The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT)

The primary objectives of the ADAPT Program are to: promote readiness, health, and wellness through the prevention and treatment of substance misuse; to provide comprehensive education and treatment to individuals who experience problems attributed to substance misuse; and to restore function and return members to unrestricted duty status, or to assist them in their transition to civilian life, as appropriate. ADAPT provides service for all active duty personnel with alcohol or drug problems. The three methods of referral: self-identification; commander’s identification; and medical referral. The ADAPT staff is also available for presenting information and participating in outreach activities upon request.
